Document Vault ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that helps you resize images and PDFs and store them in your own Google Drive. This policy explains what the extension does with your information. It is written to be read, not to hide behind legal language.

The short version

• Your files are processed on your device, inside your browser.
• Your files are stored in your own Google Drive, not ours.
• We do not run any servers, so your files and documents are never sent to us.
• The extension can only see files it created for you, not the rest of your Drive.
• We do not use analytics, ads, or tracking, and we do not share your data with anyone.

What information the extension handles

Google account profile

When you sign in with Google, the extension reads your name, email address, and profile photo so it can show you which account is connected. This information stays on your device.

Your files

When you optimize an image, edit a PDF, or save a document to your vault, that file is handled on your device and stored in your Google Drive. You choose which files to add, and you can delete them at any time.

Sign in and session data

The extension stores a small amount of data on your device, such as your basic profile and a sign-in token managed by Chrome, so you do not have to sign in every time.

How the extension uses Google Drive

The extension uses the Google "drive.file" permission. This is a limited, per-file permission. It means the extension can only access files that it created or that you opened through it. It cannot see, read, or change any of your other Google Drive files.

Files are uploaded and downloaded directly between your browser and Google. They do not pass through any server owned by us.

What we do not do

• We do not collect or store your files on our own servers. We do not have servers.
• We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising.
• We do not track your browsing.

The upload picker on other websites

When a website asks you to upload a file, the extension can offer files from your vault. To do this it runs a small script on the page to detect the upload button. This script does not read the content of the page, and it does not send any page data anywhere. It only adds the option to pick a file from your vault, or to use the normal file dialog.

The same popup can also optimize an image you choose, such as resizing it, cropping it, or changing its format, entirely on your device before it is placed in the form. This still does not read the page or send any data anywhere.

Data storage and security

• Files are stored in your Google Drive, protected by your Google account.
• Communication with Google uses secure HTTPS connections.
• Local data stays in your browser profile and is removed when you sign out or remove the extension.

Deleting your data

• You can delete any file from your vault inside the extension. This moves it to your Google Drive trash, where you can restore it or remove it permanently.
• You can sign out at any time, which clears the local session.
• Removing the extension removes its local data. Files already saved in your Google Drive remain in your Drive until you delete them there.

Children

The extension is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
